All In A Decision

After 23 years of smoking one packet of cigarettes a day, Tek Sim Eth, Director of Chroy Changva High School, Phnom Penh, has successfully quit smoking. “If it was your decision to start smoking, you are able to decide to quit smoking,” said Sim Eth.

Before quitting Sim Eth would often get sick with colds and fevers. However, since Sim Eth has successfully quit smoking with the support of his wife, he has noted the change of his health by not getting sick and gaining weight.

Sim Eth does not support the tobacco companies marketing their products on the streets and their advertising ladies who offer free cigarettes to customers. “Those ladies are poisoning people. They earn just a little income from their jobs but what they are doing is killing a million people” Sim Eth said.

For Sim Eth to quit smoking is a personal achievement of success, which has now motivated him to help other smokers quit.
