Will
You Quit Like Me?
“January 22 is my personal quit smoking day” says Colonel
Sann Sophyrom in Kompong Cham.
It was the first day of the
Khmer Quit Now! class held by ADRA Cambodia's
TOH programs. 20 army personnel were involved in learning about
the harmful effects of tobacco and how to quit smoking.
Mr. Sann Sophyrom said that he started smoking in 1962 when he was
13 years old. Finally he smoked 2 or 3 packets a day, spending $1
US per day on an average. Now after quitting he plans to save his
cigarette money for one year.
Ask yourself: What is the benefit of smoking? What do people gain
from smoking? Who benefits, if not the Tobacco Industry with a few
shareholders?
